Happy Easter!

We started celebrating Easter earlier this week with an Easter egg hunt with friends from our neighborhood.  Connor found so many eggs!  Lyla was more interested in climbing up the stairs than finding eggs.  On Easter Sunday Connor and Lyla were so cute as they looked through their Easter baskets-Connor loves his new sunglasses.  They both looked very sharp in their new outfits.  After church we headed to Chris' parents for Easter dinner-it was delicious.  After dinner we hung out and played outside.  We ended the night with a dance party.  You have to check out the pictures on the slide show.  Connor and his cousins had a blast dancing!  We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Lyla Rae is One!

I can not believe that Lyla Rae is one!  Where did the last year go?  We had such a good time celebrating her birthday.  In the Reed family we always start our birthday with a cinnamon roll, Lyla loves this tradition.  Lyla's cousin Ada is 10 day's older than Lyla so we had a joint birthday party. The two girls were so cute.  Daisy and I made lady bug cakes for the girls.  When we set them in front of girls Lyla dug right into the cake and frosting while Ada wiped the frosting off and wiped it all over herself.  It was so fun to watch!  It is so fun to live by family and celebrate the important events in life.

The Funny Things Connor Says

Connor keeps us laughing all the time!  Here are his latest.

When we were in Arizona Connor opened a cupboard in the kitchen and pulled out a paper plate. He looked at my mom and said, "Grandma, these are the Gold Plates."  My mom asked, "What do the Gold Plates say?" Connor replied, "They say I will be resurrected."

One day in Arizona Connor wasn't feeling well.  He had a really bad stomach ache and had to be rushed to the bathroom every time he said his stomach hurt.  At one point, I asked him if his stomach hurt.  He looked at me and said with a pained voice, "Yeah, am I going to have a baby?"

Connor loves to play basketball!  When ever he plays he makes up a name for his team.  The team name is usually what is on his shirt that day.  If his shirt has stripes he tells me that the stripes are winning, if he has a tractor on his shirt, he tells me the tractors are winning.  He's been the stripes, tractors, surfers, and numbers.  It always cracks me up.

Trip to AZ!

Last Thursday I loaded up the kids and we made the trek to Arizona. I decided it was time to get warm. The weather has been beautiful, this is the perfect time to visit. We went to the lake ( I forgot how much I LOVE to water ski!), trained for the silly triathlon (800m swim, 13 1/2 mile bike ride, and a three mile run, that was all in the same day! Why did I sign up?), and had a birthday party for Lyla. She was so cute when she ate her cupcake. She didn't use her hands at first, she just stuck her mouth on the cupcake and away she went. It has been a great vacation, the only thing that would have made it perfect is if our dad could have come.

You are so special to me!

Connor has always been my kid who loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses.  He tells us he loves us about 5 times a day. Chris took Connor to dinner and the Utes game tonight.  At dinner he said to Chris, "Dad, you are so special to me. I love you so much.  You are my best friend." Moments like this make it all worth it.
